Frequently Asked Questions

Explore answers to common questions and learn how we can assist your child in their speech and language journey.

1

1.  When should I seek speech therapy for my child?

It's a good idea to seek speech therapy if you notice your child is having difficulty with communication, whether it’s with speech, language, or social skills. Signs might include delayed speech, unclear speech, trouble following directions, difficulty pronouncing words, or challenges with conversation and social interaction. If you're unsure, we offer free consultations to help assess whether therapy is appropriate for your child.

2

How long will my child need speech therapy?

The length of time a child spends in speech therapy can vary widely, depending on factors such as your child's specific speech-language needs, attention, motivation, and consistency with practicing at home. We tailor therapy to your child’s specific needs, strengths, and goals, and regularly reassess their progress to ensure we’re providing the most effective plan of care. Our focus is on helping your child thrive in their own way and at their own pace, and we work with you every step of the way to ensure a plan that works for your family.

3

Should I wait and see if my child’s speech or language improves on its own?

While every child develops at their own pace, waiting to see if issues resolve on their own can lead to missed opportunities for early intervention. Delays in speech can affect not just communication, but also social skills, academics, and emotional well-being. Early support can help reduce frustration, build confidence, and prevent further delays. Trust your instincts—if you’re concerned, reaching out sooner can make a big difference for your child’s development.

4

Where do you provide speech therapy services?

We offer speech therapy services in the comfort of your home or within your community, when appropriate. Providing therapy in familiar environments helps us create natural, real-life opportunities for your child to practice their communication skills. Whether at home, in parks, or other community settings, we tailor our approach to fit your child’s unique needs and your family’s schedule.

5

What does a typical speech therapy session look like?

Our sessions are designed to be both effective and enjoyable, focusing on your child’s unique needs through a play-based approach. We use engaging activities like games, storytelling, and creative play to make learning feel natural and fun. By incorporating play, we help your child build speech and language skills in a way that feels comfortable and motivating. Each session is thoughtfully tailored to your child’s pace, ensuring they stay excited and confident as they develop their communication skills.

6

What payment options do you accept?

At this time, we are a private pay practice and do not accept insurance directly. However, we understand that some families may want to seek reimbursement through their insurance provider. To assist with this, we can provide you with a detailed super bill for each session, which includes the necessary codes for potential reimbursement. Please check with your insurance provider to see if they offer reimbursement for speech therapy services
